SPA Integrative Medicine SIG
Chair: Dr. Lynnie Correll
Saturday, April 1, 2023
4:00 – 5:00 pm CT
Room 307, Level 3
Zoom Link:
The SPA Integrative Medicine SIG is a group of pediatric anesthesiologists who are interested in learning, and using, integrative techniques and modalities to improve the perioperative experience of our patients and their families. Our members are composed of pediatric anesthesiologists who are already accomplished in various integrative arenas (acupuncture, acupressure, hypnosis, aromatherapy) and those who simply want to learn a little more. We meet quarterly (on zoom 2x yearly and in person at SPA meetings) and enjoy short presentations from each other or outside experts on specific techniques and how we can use them in our day to day practice. We also brainstorm ideas for research, and try to help one another navigate the our perioperative systems to introduce these important ideas and modalities. At SPA in Austin we will update one another on how we are doing with introducing or promoting or increasing the presence of integrative medicine in our various institutions, and discuss several ideas for collaborative research projects. We would absolutely love to have anyone who is enthusiastic, interested and curious join us at our meeting so we can better serve the SPA membership and provide useful resources for all of us. Absolutely NO significant experience with formal integrative medicine is required at all.
