Poll of the Month – March 2026

Use of EEG (BIS /SedLine) helps to titrate the depth of anesthesia intraoperatively. Routine use of intraoperative EEG for outpatient endoscopy procedure has resulted in the following changes to my practice:

A. No change yet: the processed EEG is not well validated
B. No change: we do not have EEG monitoring available
C. No change: we have EEG monitoring available but it is not typically used for outpatient endoscopy at my institution
D. I have reduced the bolus dose by titrating to the signals
E. I have reduced the infusion rate of propofol using EEG tracings along with other vitals to guide the rate of infusion
