The SPA-DEI committee is launching a brand new DEI Mentoring Program. We are currently accepting applications for mentors (attendings) and mentees (medical students, anesthesiology residents, and pediatric anesthesiology fellows) with plans to expand in the future. Since the recent ASA meeting, we have had 32 mentees apply already!
We are especially searching for diverse mentors that will guide these eager mentees. This is a wonderful opportunity for networking and community building amongst diverse anesthesiologists and trainees! This program will also provide 2 DEI Mentoring scholarships to selected mentees to cover their costs to attend the SPA/AAP Annual meeting. We will hold a virtual primer session for mentors to provide support and tips for mentorship.
